Nissim was diagnosed very late in life. He was a VERY active 87 year old—after having surgery for another condition, he never fully recovered. Months later, his weakness prompted us to see a neurologist and he was officially diagnosed with ALS a month after his 88th birthday. He’s been fighting for almost a year now! He is hilarious, incredibly smart, and despite his diagnosis, he’s actually the one keeping us all sane with his constant jokes and laughter. He is so loved!
